The A/V Group is based in Sydney Australia and operates out of its own premises at Homebush, adjacent to Olympic Park. The office/warehouse has a full maintenance workshop and warehousing facilities including pallet storage facilities and fork lift.

Sales and Marketing is handled by Peter Rolston whose profile is shown below.

Office and Sales administration is run by Kim Tracey. Kim has had many years in the industry working with Hagemeyer and the JVC Professional products line and has been working with Peter Rolston since March 2000.

Engineering Support is provided by Kevin Mooy, a freelance engineer who is based in our premises. Kevin’s CV shows a full engineering background firstly in broadcast with Channel 7 in his early days, then post production with ECV/Digital Pictures then as a freelance engineer, designing and building such facilities as Mediacast [bought out by Globecast], Premier Sport now Foxsport, Z-Space and Frame Set and Match. Kevin’s unique technical ability allows him to operate in all areas of television from Production, Post-production, ingest, playout,  transmission and OB’s.

Peter Rolston Profile:

“My first technical position was with British Relay in the UK, a cable television provider. I was a field-engineer doing maintenance and installation of cable head-ends and repeaters. My next position was with The Metropolitan Police in London, [as a civilian not a policeman],  joining a select group looking after various electronic devices and being based at Scotland Yard.

In 1974 I migrated to Australia under the “Assisted Passage” scheme where I joined the ABC in Sydney. Working mostly in OBs as a technical officer, but with a 6 month stint in Alice Springs, my 5 years at the ABC allowed me to appreciate the unique characters that seem to proliferate in and around television as well as appreciating the Aussie sense of humour! After my indoctrination into Aussie culture and deciding I really liked this place I moved into sales with Ampex [Sales Engineer], AWA Rediffusion [Sales Manager] and Telemak [National and International sales selling the ADx Time Code analysers, readers and generators].

In 1988 I decided to go into business on my own starting A/V Applications, which in 1994 morphed into The A/V Group. The company undertook systems design and installation and successfully completed major turnkey projects for Premier Sport [now Foxsport] and Galaxy [which became Australis then TARBS].

Alongside the systems work The AV Group sourced and imported product lines from Wohler Technologies, Eyeheight, Axon Digital Design, [Oxtel] and TSL to name but a few. Today our range has increased and we invite you to take time out to explore our website and see what solutions that we can provide for you.
